Photos from first week of July

Update

It has been such a long time since I wrote on here and for that, I apologise. I will do my best now to fill you all in on everything that has been going on.

For those of you who don’t already know – we are moving to Germany! Yes, Germany! I’m so excited!! We leave India on Wednesday night and it can’t come soon enough, especially now that all of our belongings have either been shipped off in Cargo to Germany or sold. We are living in one room and have a bed, one a/c, a washing machine, a fridge and a drinking water machine and that is it. All of these things are also sold but they’re being picked up on Thursday once we’ve left our apartment.

Penri has just got back from his travels. Over the last month he has been to London, Amsterdam, Stuttgart, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Manila, Bejing, Dalian, Shanghai and Singapore. All work with no rest … as you can imagine – he’s exhausted!

While he’s been away I have been packing up our flat, selling all our stuff and gathering all the necessary paperwork to get us, Dylan and the cats out of India. The cats have been the hardest thing to sort out as there is SO much paperwork required including getting a blood test done in Germany. Can you believe I actually had to FedEx their blood from Chennai to Germany to get a rabies test done? Glad to say, all is good and we’re finally getting them sorted. They have their last trip to the vets on Monday for all the final certification that they need. Getting Dylan’s passport, visa and paperwork sorted has also taken a lot of time and effort but again, I’m happy to say, that’s also done.

The packing has been really tough on me as I’m on my own with Dylan. I’m happy to say that I’ve had lots of help, especially from my friend Karyn who has been amazing! She came over for full days from 8 a.m till 8 p.m quite a few times to help look after Dylan and pack suitcases. Thank you Karyn! Also, I just want to thank all the other people who have helped me over the past few weeks – I really appreciate it!

Not much other news really. The last three weeks have just been frantic trying to get organised for Germany. I’ll write more when we’re settled and we have internet in our new place.
